Description
In this groundbreaking cult documentary from 1985, director Kirby Dick (*This Film Is Not Yet Rated, Derrida*) weaves a fascinating study of the curious role of a sex surrogate in the (then) recently established discipline of sexual therapy. Maureen Sullivan and two of her clients agreed to have the entire progression of their therapy taped, and what emerges is a disarming and compassionate look at the struggles people face in connecting with one another. Winner of the Jury Award for Best Documentary at the **Atlanta Film Festival.** Winner of the First Place Award for Documentary at the **USA Film Festival.** **Editor's Note:** This documentary from Academy Award nominated filmmaker Kirby Dick features its subjects partaking in intimate sexual acts as part of a controversial form of Surrogate Partner Therapy called "Sex Surrogacy." In addition to teaching patients important social skills, relaxation techniques, sex education, and how to establish healthy body image, Sex Surrogacy often involves sensual or sexual touching. Though the topic of Sex Surrogacy may raise moral and ethical issues for some viewers, we present this film here to be used for Educational purposes.
