Description
With only a tiny percentage of girls in sub-Saharan Africa making it to college--or even knowing someone who has--Executive Producer, Linda Stout fervently hopes that seeing a film about seven ordinary girls who did make it to college will introduce new inspiring possibilities to girls. The film shares the stories of positive women role models, of how they became who they are and how they give back to their families, communities and nations. The women of the film, like other ordinary girls, endured cultural barriers, civil war, loss of family, and other life challenges, but they are now helping people of their countries come out of poverty, achieve food security, and generally improve their lives. A version of the film is now being shown in rural villages of sub-Saharan Africa in hopes to encourage and empower change not only in women and girls, but in communites of both men and women. Women Leading Change, LLC, produced this film as a part of its efforts to address fundamental beliefs that underlie the limitations put on females. Our mission also includes social entrepreneurism by and for women.
